Shamanism in the World Today

Shamanism in the World Today?
It may change over time, but this how I see things at present.

Looking at the politics of shamanism online, you will find that things are super heated, I am amazed at the vitriol being expressed, it seems quite laughable, from a shamanic perspective.

Shaman, healer whatever, it is a title, it does not mean master, immortal or superman. The term Shaman has an aura of mystery and power around it that even the mainstream press cannot dispel.

To be a Shaman is to be on a journey into the infinite, aspects are mastered along the way, but there is no end point.

All the shamans I have seen are very human even if they are superb at what they do and/or have had outrageous extraordinary experiences, they also embody the human paradox.

Some do indeed inhabit a world far more fluid, more magical and more otherworldly than others at least part of the time but trying to compare the level of power for good, between one and another is a folly. Trying to define total authenticity in such a diverse landscape is almost impossible, different shamanic approaches do different things and they all fit together as part of the consciousness expansion and reconnection imperative of our era.

Shamanism is the encounter with a more expansive fluid reality that underpins consensual realities, it cannot be easily quantified. In all shamanic approaches you are encountering to a lesser or greater degree the extraordinary reality that has no limits.

1954

It seems to me that the danger with shamanism is power addiction and that means competitiveness or resting on ones laurels. Shamanic work requires maintenance and renewed preparation, the terrain is always moving.
The online shouting match  seems to be an argument about who has entered into the miraculous the most. Some of those who have had the most extreme other realm experiences are not necessarily those with the most lucid consciousness or are empowering people the most.

Mushrooms seen collectively laughing at humans arguing about shamanism

What does it matter, enjoy the mystery, the theatre and the diversity and if we are taking it all too serious then we are not be true to the shamanic experience and message from that experience.
Nobody owns this thing called shamanism. Shamanism means slightly different things to different people, although perhaps in the general sense it is about…

altering consciousness, being an intermediary and having communication with spirits, learning from spirits, shifting attention into the unseen worlds and journeying into those worlds accessed most potently through nature, whether ingesting plants or otherwise resulting in an appreciation of the beauty and intelligence within nature, all primarily for reconnection and healing and consciousness expansion.

Within the congruent expanse that is inherent in the contemporary usage of the word shamanism there is a lot of room for many unique pathways. Just like thousands of years ago we need a shaman for every small village.

The worldwide spread of a shamanic approach is due to an organic change in consciousness, indigenous shaman saw that it was time to take it out into the world and urban people wanted to know about it. The timing of this emergence of the global awareness was in three main waves.

1951
Published in English in 1964 (I prefer the original French cover)

Firstly the 1960s, including of course the phenomena of music, LSD, Marijuana and more, and then of course the controversial Carlos Castaneda (amazing books whatever the truth more on him soon). Secondly from around 1977, (Chiron) with Michael Harner’s Core Shamanism and teachings from indigenous shaman and again on a larger level in the 1990s.  Now we have Ayahuasca tourism and yes there are some very real dangers there.

Shamanism comes from the Earth, and the consciousness field and has been kept alive through indigenous tradition, so yes we need to respect their wisdom and lineage. However something ‘shamanic’ is also coming from the stellar realm and also emerging from within the synthetic realm of technology and ingestable substances.

My feeling, my advice is find the thing, the method, system or teaching, whatever that works for you right now and don’t give your power to the shaman, that completely misses the point.

And even saying that, I can still appreciate the role of the celebrity shaman, that is a role, different from the more intimate teacher, eventually it comes back down to explore, practice, retain your sovereignty and integrate into your life, and your life will transform.

This thing is bigger than anyone of us.

Learn in Order, to Unlearn

My shamanic course is structured by layers.

Starting off with relative simplicity and then in later stages including great complexity.

We use simple ritual and encourage personal creativity to embellish the techniques and tools for carving pathways through the psychological self to form the bridge to the pure experience of shamanism.

Throughout our personal development all ritual, routine, technique, tools and concepts are periodically cleansed and dropped and later in life our soul seeks to clear it all, all of our history, all of our knowledge.

As we develop, we internalize systems and they become part of our natural functioning, available when needed without effort.

One day the human species will internalize the internet and move into the post technological space.

We might be tempted to move directly to the empty space and this works if you totally step off the world, releasing all needs. Many people do it partially, they stop learning, but the problem is that if we leave too much un-examined, do not understand time, space and the enchanting nature of the world, we have too many blind spots and can get hooked into the worldly story without even realizing it.

The Changing Face of Shamanism

Shamanism is the first spiritual practice born from encounters with nature as a living organism. In the earliest stages of our body-self development, proto-human, we were embedded in nature and nature, animals, plants, rivers and trees spoke through us, we could not differentiate reality and had no absolute sense of individual self. At some point in this development we ingested entheogenic plant substances and this was probably the first major factor in awakening a more lucid awareness of environment and self.

Shamanism then developed through necessity, through the connection to dead relatives, through the need to find shelter, safety and food and other types of guidance and of course healing.
As tribal cultures developed, shamanism was the essential method of connection, healing and meaning.

Throughout human development shamanism has been coloured to some extent by cultural development, but still retains a core purpose of reclaiming primal connectivity.
The human soul has gradually been more and more immersed in the physical world and the separation between us and nature simultaneously increased.

The soul’s descension and the accompanying veiling of our soul’s non corporeal origins is also accessed via shamanic methodology.

The evolution of human consciousness involves increasing sophistication in the material realm we call it progress and an imperative to reclaim and re-thread our memories backwards to reconnect to our source and to know our spiritual journey through the millennia and back before time.

Progress as any fool can see has its cost, that is okay, it is the process of development. Now, in order to move forward we need to retrace our consciousness, recapitulate, retrieve lost power, repair and remember our past, in order to free ourselves from the limiting story we call history.

In our present era, the opportunity, nay necessity is being presented to integrate the forward and backward trajectory of the human psyche, in effect to expand beyond linear time.

The intent of cutting edge Shamanism has radically changed and is now presenting us with the creative ground of finding ways to utilize traditional methods and tools with the contemporary and science fiction vision we get with technology. Shamanism once freed from its indigenous shackles is naturally suited to the science fiction-esque scenarios of cosmic reality. At the same time respect and adherence to some of the indigenous methods, gratitude and respect for the spirits and indigenous people is required, so that we truly integrate our modern psyches with the body, nature and the grand story of the human adventure.

Shamanism is the essential method for integral connection, it makes us feel alive and it produces a wild, often funny, always creative adventure that has relevance to our unique self and to culture.
Through altering our position in reality ie breaking free from a fixed assemblage point and the perceptional framework of an anchored contextual experience, we engage with a profound relationship with all aspects of existence.

Existence is bubbling with life, energy, creativity and consciousness, most vividly experienced with mushrooms and Ayahuasca etc.

The ingestion of these natural substances catapults the psychonaut into some of the extraordinary realms of existence.

The challenge of shamanism is then how to create the psychological pathways to this extraordinary realm and to safely and incrementally integrate the vastness with the self.

My approach, apart from teaching basic journeying is to help people connect through the body and nature and then unlock the doors that are in easily accessible energy bodies.

The process encourages individual creativity and self reliance.

Learning Shamanism with Me

As the structure of my shamanic course is now formed, I now have to add more of the element of sovereignty to the learning process

Different people move through different elements at slightly different times.

Each individual has a unique rhythm and pathway of unfoldment, this is not an error and I will help you navigate your process of development, remembering, unzipping and decompressing your own codes.

We See the Problem

The solution, as I see it, is to firstly remind, encourage, reinforce and inspire people with the truth of spiritual sovereignty.

There is a minority but none the less significant percentage of people who can conceive of this truth.

However as the environment does not feed this level of consciousness, not many of them can retain the memory, they simply forget as soon as they re-enter the environment.

Therefore there has to be an active support system, that can only be implemented in small groups, not large scale movements.

All large scale movements, as is plainly evident decay into pyramidal systems.

The cultivation of radical sovereignty, requires individuals who do not project too much power.

Those who would support sovereignty have a degree of mastery in a specific area but are not sitting on their laurels.

The environment is too dynamic for it to have been mastered.

The illusion of universal mastery is a bubble that needs popping, because it destroys sovereignty.

Leadership is now in the hands of those who are openly diligent, flexible, fluid and can retain the enthusiasm of constant rediscovery in the flux transition we see all around us.

Talking with Crows

I could not sleep last night after 2.39am, due to this waning quarter moon, it was aspecting my natal Mars. Eventually I got up at 4am, sat on the roof killing mosquitos and enjoying the gradual awakening of the day. I got out to my special wild garden by about 5.45am, feeling tired, no way I was going to a full ceremony. But as I often forget, the best things happen without ceremony as such, just intent, I just did some processing and simple energy exercises and thought well, I will wait to 7am then go home. I was just enjoying the early morning heat and chorus.

At 7am exactly my friends the Crows turned up, they live in the hood, but like to stay hidden except for special occasions. There was a small group of them very close making a hell of a racket. So I talked to them and they talked back of course.

One thing I was wondering was how many of them were there, 3 or 4 maybe. At that point they flew as one, and revealed their number 5....of course 5 crows on 5 Jaguar.

The rest of the conversation is between me and the crows.

Planet 9 and Mike Brown

Mike Brown pointing at the expected zone of Planet Nine's orbit

From Mike Brown and Konstantin Batygin's blog The Search for Planet Nine

Nasa recently posted this vision of travel to Europa, Jupiter's Moon.

The Search for Planet Nine

Abstract: We use an extensive suite of numerical simulations to constrain the mass and orbit of Planet Nine, the recently proposed perturber in a distant eccentric orbit in the outer solar system. We  compare our simulations to the observed population of aligned eccentric high semimajor axis Kuiper belt objects and determine which simulation parameters are statistically compatible with the observations. We find that only a narrow range of orbital elements can reproduce the observations. In particular, the combination of semimajor axis, eccentricity, and mass of Planet Nine strongly dictates the semimajor axis range of the orbital confinement of the distant eccentric Kuiper belt objects. Allowed orbits, which confine Kuiper belt objects with semimajor axis beyond 230 AU, have perihelia roughly between 200 and 350 AU, semimajor axes between 300 and 900 AU, and masses of approximately 10 Earth masses. Orbitally confined objects also generally have orbital planes similar to that of the planet, suggesting that the planet is inclined approximately 30 degrees to the ecliptic. We compare the allowed orbital positions and estimated brightness of Planet Nine to previous and ongoing surveys which would be sensitive to the planet's detection and use these surveys to rule out approximately two-thirds of the planet's orbit. Planet Nine is likely near aphelion with an approximate brightness of 22<V<25.  At opposition, its motion, mainly due to parallax, can easily be detected within 24 hours. http://www.findplanetnine.com/

The predicted planet would be a super-Earth, with an estimated mass of about 10 times that of Earth (approximately 5,000 times the mass of Pluto), a diameter two to four times that of Earth, and a highly elliptical orbit that is so far away that it could take around 15,000 years to orbit the Sun. Quality of the Moment?

"Now I need to remember my Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimi, Legolas, Merry & Pippin voices from 3 months ago for Return of the King. Dad work is tough"

Mike Brown is reading Tolkien's Lord of the Rings to his daughter

Planet 9: Astronomer Mike Brown's daughter told him to find new planet after he 'killed off Pluto'

'She said ‘Daddy, what you need to do is go find a new planet so that people will no longer be sad about Pluto’'

Early on 20 January, Mike Brown put on his special “planet socks” decorated with famous members of the Solar System and went to work. Later that night the astronomer came home to his front door with a celebratory message pinned on it from his ten-year-old daughter Lilah: “Congratulations Daddy! The 9th Planet, AKA The Lilah Planet.”

Recent confirmatory Finding

uo3L91 is an object of the Kuiper Belt (KBO) discovered by Michael E. Brown March 24, 2016. According to its discoverer, it is an additional proof of the existence of the planet Nine because its position is consistent with the disruption models KBO induced by the planet Nine . (46au-1300au approx)

Atlantis is Here Now

Atlantis is a powerful and ubiquitous thought-form.

Everyone has heard of Atlantis and the word is used all the time in all manner of cultural endeavours and expressions.

Atlantis exists as a dream-like-idea in our social environment, surrounding us and yet slightly veiled by a subconscious collective fear to face it. We are moving into resonance with Atlantis and although many adults believe Atlantis to be a made up story I contend that the evidence is mounting at this time for its existence. Atlantis is gradually appearing from the fog.

The combined picture we get from the new revelations and inspirations from geology, archaeo-astronomy, archaeology, palaeontology,  global mythology, genetics, astronomy, fiction and the awakened collective intuitive understanding of Atlantis, in my estimation, shows compelling evidence for its existence.

This revelation is telling us that we are in danger of repeating the same mistakes.
What mistakes?

A large minority of people can answer that question intuitively and have a very similar answer.
The answer will go something like this…

The mistake of the Atlantean’s was in their arrogance and their wilful focus on technology, warfare and materialism. This mistake directly and possibly indirectly led to a global cataclysm. They forgot their divinity, they disregarded the Earth and nature and were led by the idea that they could act as gods.

We stand at a crossroads and there is a potential for a glorious new age of planetary civilization that utilizes its technology as a tool under the command of a planetary conscious population. The key word as any many already know is consciousness, our consciousness is the problem and the solution. Quite simply human consciousness has to evolve.
